New Puny mission with VU 12.5.2

For those of us not overly skilled, the VU 12.5.2 came with a new Puny mission chain on Planet Calypso.

You get the missions from Ingrid J at South Swamp Camp. And as a new feature, when you complete one mission, you will be asked - in the field - if you want to accept the next mission in the chain. If this applies to all missions or just this one, I am not sure, but it is really a big help, not having to go back to the broker to accept the next mission in the chain.

Currently I have encountered these missions in the chain:

Hunt 100 Puny (bonus Aim Skill)
Hunt 500 Puny (bonus Anatomy Skill)
Hunt 1,000 Puny (bonus Combat Reflexes Skill)
Hunt 5,000 Puny (bonus )

There are plenty of punies just North of Port Atlantis (PA), on the road from PA to South Swamp Camp (SSC) and around SSC.

Mobs of Puny maturity include: Cautergus (L1), Berycled (L2), Tripudion (L3)

I am using an un-amped Sollomate Opalo (standard TT weapon) which will finish most mobs in 2-3 shots (not counting misses) and sometimes in 1 shot (esp. with Critical hits). I am not using any armour. Both in order to achieve the most economical run I can. It might be even more eco to amp the Opalo with an Omegaton A101 but I have not been able to buy one at a reasonable price yet.

Good hunting!

See You, out there!

Looking for Weapon Amps

In my quest to get my PEDs last longer I am trying to make the most of the ammo and weapons that I use.

So first of all I started hunting "naked" - that is without armour, as it gets damaged which equals money being spent on repairs. With the mobs I am hunting at the moment (Daikibas mainly) it is simply not worth it.

Another way of making your PEDs last is to use an Amp for your weapon. It adds damage for a minimal added decay and ammo burn. Thus you get more damage per PED spent. But you have to look at the repair or replacement cost plus the extra ammo cost in relation to the added damage.

So currently I am looking for the following amps:

Omegaton A101
Omegaton A102

If you one (or more) of these for sale then feel free to contact me. Leave a comment here below or find me in-game - I am often in Twin Peaks on PLanet Calypso.

See You, Out there!

Group Sweating in Limnadian District

One of the good ways of sweating, is sweating in a group. That way you can sweat bigger and more dangerous mobs, that has more sweat without getting killed (as often).

One of the better Sweating spots on Planet Calypso is Limnadian District, S - SW of the Teleporter.  Here's a picture of me sweating there today:

{Sorry I am having technical difficulties. Picture will be uploaded later}

See You out there! ;-)

Sweating trip to South and North Swamp Camp

I would like to take you on a sweating trip on Planet Calypso to South and North Sweat Camp just East and North-East of Port Atlantis.

Let's start at Port Atlantis Marina "New Arrivals" Teleporter (TP). Here's a picture of me in front of it:

From here navigate to the North-East corner of Port Atlantis, past the Port Atlantis Mall:

Follow the road East, here you will encounter Level 1 and 2 mobs like L1 Caudatergus Puny and L2 Berycled Puny:

Continue following the road when it bends, going north until the road splits like this:

Take the right hand side road going down and you are at South Swamp Camp (here I got attacked by a Berycled Puny, hence the orange 3.0 in the right hand bottom corner):

Talk to the Mission Broker, he has a few missions for you, that will take you around both South and North Swamp Camp:

Have a nice trip to the South and North Swamp Camps!

See you soon, out there ;-)

I am broke! ....

I guess this was coming ....   I am now down to 0.03 PED ... Now it's time to do some serious sweating on Planet Calypso!

One way of gathering fund is sweating mobs (creatures) for Vibrant Sweat. An advanced way is Swunting; Sweating and Hunting.

How to Swunt:
You can swunt in a group or alone. Which is best depends on the mob. If you can deal with the mob yourself, you get a better percentage of the sweat and loot. But when in a group, the bigger the group, the bigger the mob and thus more sweat and better loot. In general it is better to be in a group, in my view.

Anyway, back to swunting. You sweat the mob until you get the message "you cannot gather anymore sweat from this creature". When in a group or with other people there, it is then polite to annouce that the mob is "dry". Then you can kill the mob with your weapon and loot it. That is the hunting part of swunting.

I hope that helps ;-)

Next time I write, I will post a message about swunting close to Port Atlantis.

See you out there ;-)

TP run :-)

I ran into a guy yesterday (name withheld as I haven't asked permission to publish it, yet), called Sloe, who was so kind to give me a lift to several teleports (TP) here on Planet Calypso. He was the nicest guy and I owe him a lot of thanks.

The main goal (for me, atleast) was to get to Twin Peaks, as it seems to be the centre of trade. But he was patient enough to take me to several other places like the teleport in Jason Centre. We also went to TPs in Boreas, Fort Troy, Osere and Athena Space Port, where i am now. I do not know much about these places, but I will in the near future :-)

I now have to explore these new areas for what they can offer in hunting, mining and missions/quests. Especially Twin Peaks needs a closer look for it's trade possibilities on top of the mining and hunting.

See You soon! ;-)

Mining trip to Atlas Haven

Now I want to start doing some serious mining on Planet Calypso, but I do not have the PEDs to do it.

So I decided to cash in on my previous diggings, because I found someone that was interested in my Oil. I sold that at a little higher price than TT value but less than the Market Value, but I needed the money, so I went for it.

I also decided to sell off the ore/matter finders I had, a Finder F-101 that I had constructed myself and a Ziplex Z-1 Seeker that I had in my personal storage. The reasoning for selling these items was that I expected to do better with a lot of probing using the newbie Genesis Rookie Finder (L), using only 2 Survey Probes per probing for ore and 1 probe per probing for energy matter than the F-101 and Z-1 that uses 10 times the amount.

So I bought 200 Survey Probes (I had 4 instock from completing the mining quest outside Port Atlantis (PA) for Mr. Hornby) and a the newbie finder Genesis Rookie Finder (L) and set off for the PA Teleport (TP) and went to Atlas Haven (AH).

I only did probes just around Atlas Haven (AH) as there was a lot of mobs out of my league (levels L6-L9), with my lack of protection and only an un-amplified Sollomate Opallo. But I did find a 2 deposits, one oil deposit and one Lysterium Stone deposit. They were Minimal (I) and Tiny (II).

During one of the breaks - I was teleported back to the Revival Terminal :-( - I did a little manufacturing, producing 2 Combustors. A  Combustor is one of the parts for vehicles.

I probably should not have done that, but I was curious to the process and in the process the blueprint quality rose to 1.4 :-) I don't know exactly what that will do for me, but I guess it will improve my chance of success and the condition of my manufacturing of Combustors in the future :-)

For now I think I will stick to the production of the F-101 Finder to improve my skills and maybe, just maybe I will get lucky and get some good condition F-101's to auction off :-)

See You out there! ;-)

Oil for sale

Hi all @ Planet Calypso!

I have some (refined) Oil for sale, 292 at the moment. I do not have a vehicle (yet) so my use for Oil is quite limited. Please feel free to contact me! I am usually quite close to Port Atlantis.

See You out there!

Mining Trip

Today I decided to go on a mining trip. In order to do so I had to acquire some mining probes, så I bought 20 probes at a value of PED 1.00.

To track how much I have spent on this mining trip I put everything I could in the sell window of a Trade Terminal (TT) to see it's TT Value. So with my weapon, ammo, tools and probes I had stuff at TT value of PED 13.68. I also have PED 3.02 on my PED Card, for a total of PED 16.70.

What I had misunderstood was that searching for materials takes 20 probes, so I only got one "shot", which incidently did not give anything, not even any skills. So already here there was a loss of PED 1.

So it turned into a Swunting (Sweat Gathering & Hunting) trip instead.

I made the mistake to use another healer device than the Vivo T1. I have (nearly) maxed out the Vivo T1 (Heal Interval 7.7-10.3, uses per min: 19/20), and looted the Flap on an earlier hunting trip.

It is more powerful (Heal Interval 16.0-16.0) than the Vivo T1, with a bigger max and faster heal (25 per min) although I am not skilled enough to do the max heal.

I went just north of Port Atlantis for this trip. Dying a few times I ended up at the Outpost, just north of Port Atlantis.
At the end I had items of TT value PED 12.62 and PED 0.02 for a total of PED 12.64. So a total loss of PED 4.06.

I did gain 101 Vibrant Sweat and 22 Blazar Fragments though which the TT values at PED 0.00. The Blazar Fragments has a markup at around 44,000 % today. I don't know the going rate of Vibrant Sweat these days.

So I lost a bunch of PEDs today, but I hope I gathered a little knowledge ;-)

See You out there! :-)

Greetings!

My name is Evangeline "Eve" Spring.

I came to Planet Calypso some time in '07 but that is in a bit of a haze at the moment. I do not know what happened but I have no memories except for a few moments here and there.

From my skills I know that I have been collecting Vibrant Sweat from some of the mobs around on Planet Calypso. An I have a few items that indicates that I have been both mining and hunting.

Lately I have joined the Danish Society, a group of people trying to explore Calypso and helping each other out.

I will try to share my experiences on Planet Calypso with you on thesse pages.

Below you see me in front of the Port Atlantis sign close to where the New Arrivals Teleporter is situated.

I am wearing my standard Orange Jumpsuit, only the pants are in a bad, worn out state:

Hope to see you soon!
